Senior – Phoebe

Saturday, December 11th, 2010

Phoebe is so sweet!  Her smile and personality lights up the world.  She is currently a senior at Benson and an avid volunteer in her community.  On the morning of the shoot, she woke up at 5:30am to help direct traffic for an event!  It’s December, so it was about 30 or so degrees in the morning.  During the shoot, it couldn’t have been more than 40 degrees, but she held up her smile like a trooper.

Turned out the only one complaining was myself.  Oh the shame.  In my defense, it was REALLY cold!

I love the Totoro hoodie, so awesome.

We walked back outside from the cafeteria and found some gorgeous light.  I seriously could not have asked for anything more amazing than the setting, the background, and the quality of light.  Of course, Phoebe rocked it.

Thanks again for an awesome time and the holiday goodies!  Can’t wait to dig into them Christmas day :D

Seniors from Minds Matter!

These are not only the sweetest kids ever but they are also extremely smart and hard-working. Just upon meeting them I can tell there’s something different about them. They’re not your average Seniors (at least from how I remembered High School!). Everyone was extremely polite, gregarious, and fun! I remembered when I was in high school, I was shy, awkward and had no idea what I was going to do for a living. Everyone I talked to had a plan of attack and seemed to have it pretty well figured out, so hats off to you guys!

First we have Dania – You can tell from her smile that she’s one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet.

She’ll probably pwn you on the soccer field (or futbol as everyone else in the world calls it), respect!

Next we have Monterae! Isn’t her smile pure happiness? Her smile just lights up the entire room and makes you want to smile with her.

Monterae seems like the friendliest and sincerest person–she’d make a great BFF.

Meet Christina! I’m impressed by her composure and her drive. She’s going to be a dentist someday so everyone out there, eat lots of candy!

Isn’t her smile so sweet?

Introducing Yoseph. You can see his character in these photos: polite, confident, and all-around nice guy.

I have a feeling that someday not too far in the future, I’ll be able to say: “Totally called it–that kid is going places!”

Esther is a natural! The camera loves her! I didn’t instruct her on posing at all and as you can see–she rocked this shoot.

Her energy just pops out of the picture.

Senior – Joanna

Saturday, October 23rd, 2010

Joanna was very quiet and reserved during our first meeting, but I think she loosened up during our shoot. Don’t sweat it Joanna, you’re beautiful! Actually, now that I think about it, I think she was mostly laughing at my ridiculousness. “Brush your hair to the side, and again, and again, and again!” (there were more ‘and agains’ but you get my drift)

She’s current going to Benson High School where they can choose to have majors! Isn’t that awesome? I wish my high school had that – our list of electives consisted of… lunch. Joanna is getting an awesome head start in Dentistry, and plans to attend OHSU eventually. That’s a very bright and prestigious future, best of luck Joanna!

I love this one, so confident!  Work it!
